Adelaide based | SA & NT Territory
Our client is a significant and well-regarded organisation in the Australian health sector. With a broad operational footprint and a strong commitment to clinical excellence, they are a trusted provider of healthcare services supporting doctors, specialists, hospitals, and patients across the country.

Who They Are
This organisation has built a strong reputation for patient focus and medical quality. Their culture values integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and they are committed to empowering their people to drive meaningful outcomes. They are now seeking to appoint an SA Sales Manager — a newly created role — to bring dedicated sales leadership, structure, and performance discipline to their South Australian and Northern Territory operations.

The Role
Reporting to the SA Chief Executive Officer, the SA Sales Manager is a senior leadership position and a member of the SA Leadership Team. This is a newly created role that reflects the organisation’s commitment to building a structured, data-driven sales function capable of driving sustained growth across all referral markets — general practice, specialist, hospital, clinic, and commercial.

The SA Sales Manager will lead a team of four sales professionals covering South Australia and the Northern Territory. A key early priority will be implementing the sales operating framework, embedding KPI and pipeline disciplines, and using data to drive sales performance.

Year one outcomes will be measured against :
Achievement of business growth targets, sales and budgets for the State
Market share growth
Customer retention and satisfaction levels
Team performance and engagement outcomes

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sales Leadership & Performance Management
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team across SA and NT
Establish sales objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations aligned with business goals
Monitor and analyse sales performance, providing regular feedback, 1:1 reviews, and development plans
Conduct regular field visits and joint customer calls with sales representatives
Drive accountability and a results-oriented sales culture

Sales Strategy & Business Development
Develop and mobilise the strategic plan and direction of the state sales function including business planning, operational planning, and budgets
Identify new business opportunities within hospitals, clinics, general practices, healthcare networks, and specialist practices
Manage strategic and high-value customer relationships and develop account growth plans for key customers
Expand market share through customer acquisition and retention strategies
Lead contract negotiations, business cases, and revenue enhancement initiatives

Market & Commercial Strategy
Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments across the SA and NT territories
Provide insights and recommendations to the SA CEO regarding service positioning and growth opportunities
Forecast sales performance and prepare budget recommendations
Assist with the development and execution of marketing concepts and strategies

CRM & Sales Capability
Lead or contribute to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a CRM platform across the SA business
Establish CRM disciplines, pipeline management practices, and reporting frameworks
Leverage data and sales tools to drive pipeline accuracy, activity tracking, and conversion analysis

Quality, Risk & Compliance
Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, accreditation, and organisational policy requirements
Participate in risk identification, assessment, and planning activities
Actively contribute to quality improvement and continuous improvement initiatives

Your Profile
This is a leadership-first role. The primary mandate is to bring sales discipline, structure, and performance management capability to a team with genuine market potential. While healthcare or pathology sector experience is an advantage, the organisation is equally interested in highly disciplined sales leaders from adjacent sectors who can build performance frameworks and lift team capability.

Candidates may come from a range of backgrounds including:
•      Pharmaceuticals or medical devices
•      Healthcare services, hospital supply, or medical technology
•      Pathology, Radiology, diagnostics, or laboratory services
•      Other regulated or relationship-driven B2B sales environments

You will demonstrate:
•      Tertiary qualification in science, health, business, management, marketing, or a related discipline
•      8+ years’ experience in sales or territory management including B2B and B2C environments
•      8+ years’ experience successfully managing and leading sales teams to meet and exceed targets
•      A data-driven, KPI-focused approach to sales leadership with strong pipeline management and forecasting capability
•      Strong commercial acumen and strategic planning skills
•      CRM fluency and the demonstrated ability to implement or embed sales management systems
•      Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills
•      South Australian market knowledge and/or an existing network is preferred but not essential

Industry certification in a structured sales methodology (e.g. Miller Heiman, SPIN, Challenger, or equivalent) is highly regarded.

Diversity and Inclusion
Our client is an equal opportunities employer. They encourage applications from people of all ages, nationalities, abilities, and cultures — including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the LGBTQI+ community, people living with disability, and individuals with culturally diverse backgrounds. They are happy to adjust their recruitment process to support accessibility needs.

Please note, only shortlisted applicants will be contacted, and all applicants must have a legal right to work in Australia.

You may be required to undergo probity checks as part of the recruitment process, including police checks.
