As a Dermatopathologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and managing dermatological conditions through the examination and analysis of skin biopsy specimens. Responsibilities
:
- Reporting Daily Skin Cases
- The scope of the role excludes inflammatory skin diseases and includes challenging melanocytic cases for General pathologists and a diverse scope of practice for Dermatopathologists.
- Perform microscopic analysis and interpretation of skin biopsy specimens, utilizing both traditional glass slide and digital formats, to identify dermatological conditions.
- Produce precise and comprehensive pathology reports by examining tissue samples, considering clinical history, and relevant medical information.
- Collaborate with dermatologists, pathologists, and other specialists to discuss intricate cases, exchange knowledge, and recommend treatment plans.
- Adhere to quality control and assurance protocols to ensure accurate and dependable diagnoses.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in dermatopathology through continuous learning, research, and active participation in educational activities.
- Offer expert consultations to physicians, healthcare professionals, and colleagues regarding challenging diagnoses and treatment options.
- Guide and mentor pathology residents, fellows, and laboratory staff members.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, ethical standards, and institutional policies.
Requirements:
- A relevant medical qualification with completion of residency training (either dermatology or pathology) and Board Certification in Dermatopathology from a recognized certifying body.
- Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology and/or Dermatology.
- 2-4 years of experience working in the field of Dermatopathology
- Have completed an accredited pathology residency program followed by a dermatopathology fellowship.
- Current medical license to practice as a Dermatopathologist in Australia.
- Proven experience in dermatopathology, preferably in a clinical or academic setting.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex microscopic specimens.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate diagnoses and collaborate with colleagues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with advancements in dermatopathology.
- Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to ethical standards.
Flexibility
Our client is able to offer a flexible solution to those that want it. With the help of new state of the art technology it is possible to provide hybrid solutions for the right candidates which must include at least 50% of your time working from one of our state-of-the-art Laboratories.
In addition, Part Time working is also an option with a minimum of 3 days a week with appropriate case loads for the time commitment given.
