Up to $135,000 + Super

Our client is a significant and well-regarded organisation in the Australian health sector. With a broad operational footprint and a strong commitment to clinical excellence, they are a trusted provider of healthcare services supporting doctors, specialists, hospitals, and patients across the country.

They are currently seeking a Business Analyst to transform complex business, financial and operational data into meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across the organisation.

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Business Analyst combines strong technical analytical capability with commercial acumen to identify trends, opportunities and risks, enabling data-driven decision-making that enhances business performance. Working closely with Finance, Marketing and operational stakeholders, you will develop and maintain reporting solutions, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensure the integrity and reliability of organisational data.

This is a highly visible role where your work will directly influence business outcomes, with direct access to senior leaders across the organisation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Data Analysis and Business Insights
  •  Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, performance drivers, risks and opportunities
  • Generate actionable insights that support commercial, financial and operational decision-making
  • Conduct detailed analysis of business performance indicators and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Present findings, trends and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels

Reporting and Dashboard Development
  • Develop, maintain and enhance reporting dashboards using Cognos and Microsoft Excel
  • Produce regular, ad hoc and executive reporting packs with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness

Financial Planning and Performance Analysis
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling activities through TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics
  • Analyse key financial and operational metrics including revenue, pricing, sales volumes, margins and cost performance
  • Partner with Finance and business leaders to understand performance outcomes and identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist in developing analytical models that support strategic planning and business growth initiative

Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to ongoing enhancements in business intelligence, reporting and performance measurement frameworks
  • Support business improvement and transformation projects across the organisation
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve business processes and support a culture of data-driven decision-making


Your Profile
You are a commercially minded analyst who enjoys solving complex business problems, uncovering insights, and driving improvement across a national organisation. You are equally comfortable working with large datasets and presenting clear, actionable recommendations to non-technical audiences.

Candidates may come from a range of backgrounds including:
  • Business analysis, data analysis, commercial analysis or financial analysis roles
  • Finance transformation, business improvement or process redesign environments
  • Healthcare, pathology, diagnostics or similarly data-driven regulated industries

You will demonstrate:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems or related discipline
  • Minimum 3–7 years' experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Commercial Analyst or similar
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability including Power Query, pivot tables and data modelling of large datasets
  • Experience with Cognos reporting and dashboard development
  • Experience using TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics for budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to translate complex data for non-technical audiences
  • Commercially focused with an outcomes-driven mindset

SQL or Power BI skills are a bonus, as is experience with data warehousing, ETL processes or advanced analytics tools. Experience in finance transformation or business improvement is highly regarded.
